The Royal Society: Biomaterials with Aimee Cheesbrough

e
Third year KCL student Aimee Cheesebrough took part in the Royal Society's Summer Science Online Festival.

Alongside 19 research groups from across the UK, she helped build a digital stand where participants demonstrated their research through innovative digital experiences, from escape rooms and quizzes to virtual tours and digital games.

Aimee works between the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (CSCRM) at KCL and the Centre for Biomaterials and Interventional Science at UCL.

Aimee’s research is focussed on developing new biomaterials which are used to grow skeletal muscle tissues in the lab. Her research helps us to better understand how muscles work and how they can be affected by certain diseases.
